The name of the society is Cranbrook Community Forest Society.

The purposes of the society are:

1. To protect the environment for the benefit of the public by conducting environmental stewardship projects designed to preserve and protect forest, flora, and fauna, such as establishing and maintaining public trails at Cranbrook Community Forest.

2. To advance education, increase the public's understanding and improve community awareness about the importance of supporting and maintaining the integrity of the Cranbrook Community Forest as a valuable outdoor educational and recreational asset by providing maps, educational signage, interpretive trails, kiosks, and public communication, as well as by maintaining a website to provide information on forest, flora, and fauna in addition to information on developments and community work.
