The Cranbrook Community Forest Society (CCFS) is proud to announce a new phase in our stewardship of the land and environment of the Cranbrook Community Forest. Thanks to a generous donation from TC Energy and their Build Strong Program, CCFS will launch an Invasive Plant management program in the Community Forest in the summer of 2022. Our first year will consist of hiring the East Kootenay Invasive Species Council to inventory the invasive plants in the Forest and developing a method of controlling all the known infestations of weeds. We are open to additional and future funding to treat these weeds by limited herbicide use, grass seeding and weed pulls.
